the girls leadership network was founded in in 2017. Each year, young women come together to hone their skills and develop their networks. Some of the reasons they joined the network included:
- “My personal leadership goal is to be more self-assured and confident in my ability to communicate to others.”
- “I’m hoping to learn how to grow in leadership with other girls and learn how to inspire and encourage one another.”
- “I’m a college captain of a big school so I would love to learn how to be myself while still being able to lead a large team.”
- “I hope to hear from a range of speakers about their leadership experiences. I’m eager to hear about people who have come from different places.”
- “Growing up is such a hard thing, you’re always being influenced by the media and people’s views and opinions so stepping out of your comfort zones to be a leader and not a follower can be a challenge sometimes.”
